Born Against - Eulogy 7"

NYHC ABC No Rio style, but who cares, I'll let the music do the talking. The real story here is the image...guess who got a new scanner today...go ahead...click on the image :)

Adrian Smith Interview

I have no idea why I am posting this since I can't imagine anyone is going to want to hear this interview with Adrian Smith. All I could think of while listening to this record was that it sounds like an unfunny Spinal Tap bit or something along those lines. Well, it is kind of funny to hear Adrian state that the most original band he has heard in a long time is Living Colour.

Iron Maiden interview picture disc = not so good to listen to but nice to look at.

Flesh Columns - Schweigew Vor Dem Sturm 7" 1984

I spent this past Sunday at the NYC punk rock record show in Brooklyn and picked up a bunch of cool records for fairly reasonable prices. This is one of the gems I brought home with me from the show. Flesh Columns were from Canada and they recorded a ripping little punk/hardcore 7" for sure. The 7" was recorded by Corey Rusk and released on Touch and Go records in 1984 so you know you can't go wrong with this one...

The Users - Sick of You / I'm in Love 1977

Sure you can get this one on 100 other blogs, but hey every post can't be a super rarity that no one cares about. I mean hell when music is as great as this it's definitely worthy of a spot on this shitty blog.

Anomy - TVC 15 / Lone Wolf - Inner Landscapes Records 1981

Here is a strange obscure little synth-pop record that I hope some of you will give a listen to and provide some feedback on. I honestly know nothing about this band other than it appears they were from the Bronx New York based on the few details I could find about them on the web. Anyway, they play a very minimalist electronic synth style that is strangely captivating to me and I hope others will enjoy this one as well.

Cosmic Overdose - To Night / Dead... 1981 Silence Records

Yeah, I've been on a strange trip lately my fiends. I honestly don't even know how to describe this record but I like it. What I can tell you is that the band is from Sweden and they play something along the lines of early 80's synth-pop. The first song is a totally smooth catchy sing along and the b-side is a very strange undertaking indeed. If you are adventurous then give this a listen and I think you will like what you hear...Dave G.

Mydolls - 7" CIA Records 1981

Since apparently no one liked the Mydolls 7" I just posted I figured I would post their even more awesome 1st 7" for none of your listening pleasure. I hate you all...Dave G.

P.S. Dianna from Mydolls just brought to my attention (see comments) that there is a cd anthology available through the Bomp records mailorder. I strongly recommend this anthology to anyone who enjoyed the singles that I posted. The cd itself is loaded with demo tracks and rare previously unreleased material. I ordered mine today ...Dave G.

Mydolls - Imposter / Exorcism Cia Records 1982

If you are a fan of bands like Delta 5, Kleenex or Lilliput then you should give this a listen. Not that this sounds exactly like any of those bands but they are the only ones I could think of to give you a general comparison. Mydolls formed in 1979 in Houston, Texas by members Trish Herrera (ex-Kinky Friedman And the Texas Jewboys), Dianna Ray, Linda Bond (wife of Ronnie Bond from Really Red - aka U-Ron Bondage), and George Reyes (ex-Mystics)...Honestly do you even need to know more ?

The Weasels - Beat Her With A Rake / I'm The Commander Siamese Records 1978

Ridiculous lyrics, and music that is delivered in such an over the top style that you can't help but like it. You just have to download this and hear it for yourself. It's definitely a little punk, a little garage and maybe even a little metal. All I know is that, you'll hate yourself for loving this...Dave G.
