If I find any recordings, I'll let you know. I have a couple of old-school style songs here http://www.myspace.com/deanjonesmusic and I'll occasionally post a new one every so often. I would love to hear the superior original versions some day, and I will definitely keep my eye out for the 5 song ep, assuming it was officially released back in the day. .Dave Ghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02035970027537584354noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3026612106880254203.post-15905193676142818942010-07-16T17:41:48.483-04:002010-07-16T17:41:48.483-04:00These songs are fake remakes I did in 2002. I'...These songs are fake remakes I did in 2002. I'm Dean Jones, I was the other half of Enerjetics with my cousin Dave on drums. I remade the songs, alone, just to hear them again because I didn't have any old copies of them and figured I'd document them before I forgot them completely. Performance-wise, the recordings are significantly inferior to how we actually sounded. I'm not a singer; Dave sang them much better. I sort of patched together a drum track using some drum loops (SmartLoops Dry Studio Drummer, I'm pretty sure), so the drum tracks are far below Dave's ability. He remains one of my favorite hardcore drummers (just listen to AF's Victim in Pain again). History: Enerjetics started in late 1979 and went until about 1981. We played at the Dover Showplace like twice a week, played CBGBs once, but our big claim to fame was opening 6 or so Plasmatics shows in the summer of 1980 (crap... 30 years ago!). We did record an 5 song EP at Omni recording studios in Morristown NJ on 5/8/1980, and I think Dave may still have the master tape. He was NOT happy I rerecorded these songs. He wrote all the lyrics and I wrote the music except for track 3, 9, and 10 where Dave wrote both music & words. If you ask me, they're just pretty crappy covers of Enerjetics songs. I just wanted to hear them again, and let some family hear what I was talking about back then. Also, I think that the band that came after Enerjetics, The OutGroup (again, with Dave on drums) was like a 'better' Enerjetics. One of the reasons I held this back originally was I had my doubts that it was an old recording.
