Evergreen s/t ep 1992 Self Destruct records

Awesome record that deserves to be heard so I moved it back to the front page. I recently picked up a cd discography of Evergreens music from Noise Pollution records and I highly recommend the cd to everyone.

I picked this one up around 1994 right in the middle of the whole emo thing that was going on. Honestly, I thought it was that whiny Evergreen from California, but boy I couldn't have been more wrong. The Evergreen we have here is actually from Louisville, Ky . Now I know you are thinking 1992-1994 Louisville, KY...shit this must sound like Slint or Bitch Magnet etc, but you could not be more wrong. What we have here are 5 pretty ripping punk /hardcore type songs. I honestly think this one stands the test of time so give it a listen. Also, check out the little Voi Vod part at the end of track 2. Ok, I am going to shut the hell up now, just listen and decide for yourselves....peace.

I cannot fucking believe you have this. I have two mp3's by Evergreen that I got somehow many years ago and have absolutely LOVED those fucking songs...but I couldn't find anything out about the band. They were just too obscure and forgotten. So I gave up trying to learn about them or get any more music by them...Now, because of your blog reminding me about Evergeen, I did a Google search and have found info about them...and I also just downloaded one of their albums from Amazon! And it has the 2 god-damn songs ("Pants Off" and "The Queen Song") and I am seriously freaked out and psyched to hear Evergreen again. Thank you, bro!

I actually saw Evergreen live in NYC opening for Rodan back around 94 can you believe it. It was an unbelievable show. This ep blew me away from first listen and is completely unknown and it is a shame. Thanks for stopping by, glad you are enjoying the music Dave G

ah you bastard!! you saw them live? aargh I am so jealous. For some idiotic reason, that was a period of my life when I wasn't going to shows much even though I was living in San Francisco at the time. I hate to think of how many great shows I missed in that period. Evergreen and Rodan together on one bill sounds like a helluva great night.

I saw Rodan 3 times as well haha. The mid nineties was a busy time for me as far as going to shows. I would go to shows in NY/NJ at least 3 or 4 nights a week. I was in deep at the time. Now you have to twist my arm to get me to a show lol.

Hey, Just stumbled upon your site and had to comment on this one, being from Louisville. This 7" is right when the band changed their name from Cinderblock, to Evergreen. There's a Cinderblock demo around, I'll have to find and get to you. Anyways, this was with their first singer, Dave Pollard. They changed their sound a bit on their later releases (which also rule)....this was a great time for Louisville's quirky punk/bc scene. Great to see it!

Love the site!Thanks!

Stan, I would love to hear the Cinderblock demo if you can find it.
This ep just blows me away even to this day.
