Gang Green - Skate To Hell / Alcohol 7" Taang 1985

I'm not a big Gang Green fan in all honesty. I mean the tracks on "This Is Boston Not LA" are fantastic and the first 7" is swell , but they sort of lost me with the whole punk rock party band thing, however the song "Alcohol" from this 7" is a fine party anthem that has always been able to get me off my feet and singing along.

what the hell! this is what they sounded like after the early years? too bad. you're right their comp tracks are fantastic, but this. thanks for uploading though. when was this released?

p.s. not to be a stickler by the comp is called "THIS IS boston not la" not "WE ARE FROM boston not la". i think "we are from" would have been at better title anyway. ;)

This is one of my all time top 3 U.S. punk singles ever (Last Rights "Chunks" and Weirdos "Neutron Bomb" are the other two).

Hahahaha...nice catch Zach. That was a bit of serious brain freeze on my part, especially since I had just taken the Lp off my turntable and it was sitting right in front of me lol.

New single from Gang Green's Stilphen brothers with Erich Thaler from Stompbox. Chuck Stilphen wrote the music for Alcohol.

Nuns Of Punk reminds me a little of the early Sub Pop type bands . The good pre-grunge stuff not the crap that the Nirvana explosion spawned.

I think I heard the Another Wasted Night 12" before I heard the earlier stuff, so it'll always have a place in my heart. I can't really relate to the Boston party animal mindset either, despite having spent a good amount of time in that city, and yet somehow their blending that with some really intense hardcore appealed to me for some reason. It wasn't until the later stuff when they actually started sounding a bit like a bar band that they started to lose me.
