Sheer Terror - No Grounds For Pity cassette 1986

Dark heavy sludgy New York hardcore. At times Sheer Terror sounds to me like what Celtic Frost would sound like if they were playing hardcore back in the 80's. This tape still sounds good to me today, maybe it's because Sheer Terror really doesn't sound like any of the other NYHC bands from this time period. The first 4 songs on this tape were recorded at Demo Demo studios by Don Fury 07/1986 and the last 4 songs were recorded live at CBGB.

cool. Never heard this. Wish i could d/l it. id say your spot on with that Celtic Frost comment. i remember hearin their first record thinkin they sound like C frost trying to sound like Sick of it All or somethin. Or maybe the other way around. Great stuff though - i love that 1st record.

naw, its not that. just this computer has crashed once before and its really slow and doesn't handle music d/l's or files too well. Thanks for the offer though. i still have my copy of their 1st Lp, so i can enjoy that - however beat up and scratched it may be. Which reminds me - another record i need to start lookin for a new copy of..

A couple of years ago Blackout! rec. put out a collection of Sheer Terror demos, the "no grounds for pity" cd. Cool stuff. It should be pretty easy to find.

It looks like the demo cd came out in 1996 and is out of print.

Paulie licensed Blackout the demos in exchange for them paying for a bunch of dental work he needed. True story. God bless that band. They were and are one of the greats and don't get the credit they deserve.

Hey all,

Anyone on the blog-o-sphere have the Fathead Suburbia demo? It's allegedly Paul Bearer's first band, in which he played bass. They had one track on a Big City comp. and the rest has disappeared from history.
