Clitboys - Detour demo tape 1982

Excellent early 80's hardcore punk. They also released one excellent 7" ep called "We Don't Play The Game" which you can find pretty easily on other blogs...I'll admit I do not own this cassette but I would like to if someone has a copy of the original tape that they want to get rid of. After literally years of searching for this demo I found it at http://nuclearfarmedfuckfrogs.blogspot.com earlier today, and while I am not a fan of borrowing from others I couldn't resist the urge to share this tape with my blog followers.

Thanks nuclearfarmedfuckfrogs.blogspot.com for this awesome demo...Dave G.

Kleenex - You / U ep 1979

This post is for Scream Bloody Gore ( obvious Death reference) who took a chance on the Liliput single I posted last month and was pleasantly surprised to find that he liked Liliput. Honestly, nothing makes me happier then to see someone step outside their comfort zone and take a chance on some of the non-metal and non-punk music that I post up on this blog.

Anyway, Liliput and Kleenex are one in the same. The band changed their name to Liliput after they had some legal difficulties with the Kleenex tissue company I believe. This is really excellent post punk, which unfortunately had a strong influence on the terrible riot girl scene of the mid 90's. There is a 2 cd complete kleenex /Liliput discography available from Kill Rock Stars which you should definitely pick up if you do not feel like tracking down the original vinyl...Dave G.

Warzone - Tommy Rat Demo 1984 / Street Kids Demo 1986 bootleg Lp

My girl called me on her way to work this afternoon and she jokingly asked me " what do you do when I am not home" ? Well, I'm sure she thinks that I'm perusing the internet for sluts banging donkeys, or trying to meet 18 year old honeys on Myspace, but the truth is that I am sitting in my apartment playing NHL 09 on my PS3 and ripping Warzone bootlegs...seriously, what the hell is wrong with me...Dave G.

Cause For Alarm s/t ep 1983 - Victory Records release 1994

This 7" was originally released in 1983, and then re-released by Victory Records in 1994. Cause For Alarm were part of the first wave of NYHC bands along with Antidote, AF, The Abused, The mob etc. Essential record if you are an NYHC fan.

Forced Down - A Cry For Truth / Texas - Old World Records 1991

Forced Down was active in the California hardcore scene in the late 80's early 90's. You'll probably either love this or hate it...I personally really like it. The music is on the more mid tempo side with strained/sung/shouted vocals. Sometimes there is a clumsiness to the music, but the raw emotion in the vocals really keeps me sucked in regardless. Dave G.

Jackshit Hicktown ep - Squirtdown records 1984

Features Steve Youth of 7 Seconds on bass and Kevin Seconds on backing vocals. The fast songs are good...

The Mad - I Wanna Be A Devil ep

Essential stuff right here. It's hard to believe that the song "Eyeball" presented on this single was recorded in 1977. The Mad were the masters of performance art punk, and lead singer Screaming Mad George even went on to be a Hollywood make up artist. I urge you to find yourself a copy this ep and also grab there 2 ep's " Fried Egg" and "Eyeball".

Judge - New York Crew - Schizm Records

What the hell can I say about Judge. Let's see, this is my favorite Judge record, straight edge lyrics are silly, and listening to straightedge records drunk out of my mind sure was fun as a kid.

Magazine - Give Me Everything / I Love You Big Dummy ep 1978

Magazine was formed by Howard Devoto in 1977 after he left the Buzzcocks . Magazine released some fine records in their time especially "Real Life and "Secondhand Daylight". This single features a fine a-side in "Give Me Everything" and an absolute essential b-side in the Captain Beefheart cover " I Love You Big Dummy". The b-side is one of those songs that will end up stuck in your head all day long...Dave G.

Symbol Six - 12" Poshboy Records 1982

Here is a cool record I picked up at Vinyl Conflict in Richmond VA this past weekend. Vinyl Conflict is a new punk rock record shop owned by Brandon and Lauren who also do an awesome record label called No Way Records. I recommend that you check out their awesome store if you are ever in Richmond and you can also find them at www.nowayrecords.com.

Anyway, back to the record. This Symbol Six 12" ep contains 4 songs of classic Poshboy punk rock, think Adolescents meets Agent Orange. A few months back I posted a Symbol Six ep that contained 2 of the songs from this 12" which only proved to be a teaser really because once I heard that ep I knew I had to track down this 12" with all 4 songs. Honestly, the music is a bit generic which stops it from being a classic record, but it's still worth a listen in my opinion.

Incantation - Entrantment of Evil ep 1991

I will be the first to admit that I am not a big fan of Incantation or for this style of metal in general. However, when a friend offered me this single for free recently I couldn't resist accepting his offer with the thought in mind that I would share it on my blog. Hopefully this post will make someone happy out there in the blog world...enjoy...Dave G

Mothman - Poison Arm - Rocket Science Records 1996

Here is a single that I released on my record label Rocket Science Records back in 1996. This blog of mine actually was set up to be the Rocket Science Records web page, but when I realized no one gave a shit about the records I released I decided to turn the blog into what you see today. If anyone happens to dig this and wants a copy I may have 1 or 300 laying around here somewhere, so drop me an email (dave88@optonline.net) and I'll send you a single for the cost of shipping to wherever you are located.Oh yeah, this little slab of vinyl is METAL...Dave G.
